Book Launch & First Stop on the Some Writer! Tour

October 6: Family Night at the Waterman’s Community Center, 6:00 p.m.: Potluck dessert, exhibit of children’s art based on Charlotte’s Web, high school student art installation, Adult Education participant reading of selections from E.B. White’s book of essays, One Man’s Meat, and a special theatrical introduction of Melissa Sweet and her book Some Writer! Books will be available for purchase, and Melissa will sign books at the event. October 7: School Visit Day at North Haven Community School: Melissa will have the opportunity to view students’ projects based on her book and E.B. White, and will offer workshops with students in Grades 3-6 and lead discussion groups and a Q&A session with seventh and eighth graders. We can’t wait to see the Grades 1-2 classroom – they’ve modified their room around Charlotte’s Web!

Tour Turner Farm early Friday afternoon with IRW and Melissa – Come check out a real working farm, similar to Wilbur’s beloved home in Charlotte’s Web.
