John David Anderson is an award-winning author of young adult and middle grade fiction. He has written “Ms. Bixby’s Last Day,” “Insert a Coin to Continue,” “The Dungeoneers," “Sidekicked,” “Minion,” “Standard Hero Behavior," “Posted" and "Granted." As a child, he wanted to be a storyteller of some kind. He also created fantasy worlds in his head where he liked to escape imagining himself as a sword-wielding, laser-blasting protagonist.
In high school, he fell in love with writing. He wrote his first book, which was never published. He continued his schooling at Indiana University and then the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He published his first book at the age of 30.
David lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with his wife Alithea and their twins, Isabella and Nick. He loves spending time with his family, playing the piano and ukulele, eating chocolate and avoiding the dishes. He makes and plays board games, collects Legos and is learning to throw knives!
