SHOWNOTES

IRW Presents: Professional Development Series 2024! Join us for a series of workshops inspired by our 2023 Dear Teacher conference. Resources and a certificate for one contact hour will be distributed after the session via email.

About this Workshop

Zines are handmade/homemade publications that showcase writing, collage, drawing, or photography to tell stories, spread awareness, or teach on different topics. Zines have a long history of being used to publish writing on a tiny budget—making them an incredible tool for classrooms!

Learn a little about the history of zines, how to use them in your classroom to encourage writing and self-expression, and gather ideas for zine-swaps, zine-libraries, and more! We’ll learn to fold  a basic zine together and registrants will receive an e-zine filled with zine resources!
